Economy
Liberia's economy is a very small and dwindling economy. With about 85% of the population unemployed, GDP per Capita is only about $700. Liberia makes most of its money through exporting its natural resources, such as timber, rubber, mineral resources and diamonds. These exports are sent to large countries such as the United States, Spain and Germany. Without other countries, Liberia's small economy would not exist. Many people also have small farms, in which roughly 70% of the labor force is employed in. Liberia uses both Liberian Dollars and US Dollars.
EducationThe education in Liberia was severely hurt in the civil wars. About 61% of the population of Liberia are literate. Primary and secondary education is free and mandatory for ages 6-16, but is not enforced well. The education is held back because of inadequate supplies and inadequate buildings, as well as unqualified teachers. The boys who go to school on average attend 11 years, girls attend about 8, and more girls are illiterate, meaning that men have more chances than girls
